[08001] [Native Code: 30010] [ASEOLEDB]Client unable to establish a connection – Sybase ASE OLEDB Provider for Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.5 in Windows 7

If you hit the error “[08001] [Native Code: 30010 ] [ASEOLEDB]Client unable to establish a” while running Sybase ASE Data Source Administrator like below.




Then change the Server name to IP address, remember you must not use localhost, or your machine name. You can use machine name in Windows XP but not in Windows 7.

    I was trying for two hours to stablish a connection with the ASE Server name! Now, with the local IP works fine!

    Excellent.. worked for me in sap solution manager on sybase ase 15.7, managed system connection. Wasn’t resolving the db host with the hostname, but as soon as i changed it to host ip, it worked like a charm.. Thanks much..
