How to display the data return from Web API to browser

That is reason I want to show you how to get the data back to the browser rather than open the browser to access the Web API and use other programs to see the data.

You only need few lines of code change to get this done.  I have a controller name ValuesController.cs.

  Book book = new Book { title = “ASP.NET” };

  return book;

Create a blank Index.cshtml or delete all the existing content in Index.cshtml. Put this follow code.

<!DOCTYPE html>

<html xmlns=””&gt;

    <script src=”Scripts/jquery-1.7.1.min.js”></script>

    <script src=”Scripts/jquery-1.7.1.js”></script>

    <script type=”text/javascript”>

        $(document).ready(function () {

                function (data) {
