Export attachment from Lotus Notes to file system using LotusScript

This short article is showing you how to export the attachment in Lotus Notes database as file in file system.

I found the code here http://searchdomino.techtarget.com/tip/Extracting-attachments-from-a-Lotus-Notes-rich-text-field that can be use but with 2 bugs.

I patched the code as below.

Option Public

Option Declare

Sub Initialize

 Dim sess As New NotesSession

 Dim db As NotesDatabase

 Dim coll As NotesDocumentCollection

 Dim doc As NotesDocument

 Dim rtitem As Variant

 Dim filename As Variant

 Dim i As Integer

 Dim strname As String

 Set db = sess.currentdatabase

 Set coll = db.unprocesseddocuments

 Set doc = coll.getfirstdocument

 While Not doc Is Nothing

  Set rtitem = doc.GetFirstItem(“Body”)

  If Not rtitem Is Nothing Then

   If ( rtitem.Type = RICHTEXT ) Then

    ForAll o In rtitem.EmbeddedObjects

     If ( o.Type = EMBED_ATTACHMENT ) Then

      filename = Evaluate(“@AttachmentNames”, doc)

      For i = 0 To UBound(filename)

       strname = filename(i)

       Call o.ExtractFile( “c:\attach\” & strname )

      doc.fieldname = “”

      Call doc.Save( True, True )

     End If

    End ForAll

   End If

  End If

  Set doc = coll.getnextdocument(doc)

End Sub

Select the document in the Lotus View in order to run this LotusScript from Agent.

    Thanks for the code, however, my LS agent stuck here at the line
    filename = Evaluate(“@AttachmentNames”, doc) . Should it be something else?
