The name ‘InitializeControl’ does not exist in the current context

This short article shows you how to resolve the error message “The name ‘InitializeControl’ does not exist in the current context”.

When you want to create a Visual Web Part for samdboxed then you will see the screen below. You will click Finish.


One the project is created you realize you have the error “The name ‘InitializeControl’ does not exist in the current context”.


This is because your url is not pointed correctly. Use the exact path instead of using just the name of the server. See the picture below. With I get rid of the error.
