C# Find the last Day of Week of the month

This blog gives the complete code of finding the Last Day of Week of the Month for example, Thursday, Saturday, and so.

The idea of this post from forum, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24245523/getting-the-first-and-last-day-of-a-month-using-a-given-datetime-object, is good but it only has the code snippet. I bet they are half or more than half of the reader after reading it, and yet to know how to code. Again what is var there in the post?

To complete shows in the code below. You will get actually the day.

static void Main(string[] args)

{

  DateTime dte = GetLastDayOfMonth();

  Console.WriteLine(“The last day of this moeth is {0}”, dte.DayOfWeek);

}

public static DateTime GetLastDayOfMonth()

{

  DateTime date = DateTime.Now;

  DateTime firstDayOfMonth = new DateTime(date.Year, date.Month, 1);

  var lastDayOfMonth = firstDayOfMonth.AddMonths(1).AddDays(-1);

  return lastDayOfMonth;

}
