What is SQL Server Data Quality Client?

SQL Server Data Quality Services (DQS) is a knowledge-driven data quality product from Microsoft SQL Server. DQS enables users to build a knowledge base then later use it to perform critical data quality tasks, including enrichment, correction, standardization, and de-duplication of the data. DQS enables you to do data cleansing by using the knowledge base provider by you or cloud-based reference data services provided by reference data providers. DQS also provides with the profiling that is integrated into its data-quality tasks, enabling analyzing the integrity of the data.

After your SQL Server installation, you try to run SQL Server Data Quality Client but it gave you error. That is because Data Quality Service is not install during the SQL Server installation process.

“C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL13.CMM\MSSQL\Binn\DQSInstaller.exe”

The DQS_ databases will be created after the installation.

Now you should not have error when running SQL Server Data Quality Client.
