SSIS The connection “” is not found

This blog shows you how to get the SSIS component that generates the error such as “The connection “{6A2BEE57-1779-4B4F-9573-116F568F928F}” is not found” in your SSIS package.

When you open your SSIS Package dtsx, you might see the dialog below pop up.

When I looked at the error I got the one below:

“Severity    Code    Description    Project    File    Line    Suppression State

Error        Error loading FileLoopETD.dtsx: The connection “{6A2BEE57-1779-4B4F-9573-116F568F928F}” is not found. This error is thrown by Connections collection when the specific connection element is not found.        D:\SSIS\chanmm\dev2\ssisLab\ssisLab\FileLoopETD.dtsx    1″

There is no way for find out from the dtsx Designer fast. You need to click on the components with connection one by one. In order to find this fast right click the dtsx with error and choose View Code.

For me, according to my error I should search for “6A2BEE57-1779-4B4F-9573-116F568F928F”. From here I know the error is with an Execute SQL Task component named Create and Truncate Staging table.

Locate the Execute SQL Task component called Create or Truncate Staging table double click to open it.

So the Connection property is causing the error. You need to choose a valid connection.
