Microsoft a Leader in 2019 Endpoint Protection

There is a Gartner report showing Microsoft a Leader in 2019 Endpoint Protection, https://www.microsoft.com/security/blog/2019/08/23/gartner-names-microsoft-a-leader-in-2019-endpoint-protection-platforms-magic-quadrant/. Of course, many people come back and tell me “oh, Microsoft is paying to get this report”. Well, again, Symantec Trend Macro are doing this as well. Following, people keeping claiming “abc auti-virus company has AI, xyz anti-virus company has AI bla bla bla…”. If you understand how AI works, AI needs huge amount of data to train the model in order to provide accurate data. Think about it, is Microsoft Windows installation base larger or abc auti-virus company installation base large. Hence, who will have more data to train their model to provide security threat accuracy? Unquestionably, at the end of the day everything boils down to dollars and cents. At this moment, Windows Defender is still free if you do not want to pay extra for another anti-virus. This can be real impact on your organization Take Cost Out (TCO) activity.
